Bloodalcohol begins: Here's why you should buy it and review it
Exquisitely polished and tested against a harsh writing coach, these ten brand new stories should thrill you and set a new high water mark for NZ horror fiction.
“If you ever feel the need to read something really creepy just make sure the authors are from New Zealand.”
"This book is fully crazy, creepy and loaded with harshly poetic justice... It's like reading a story that's being told to you by the person who's in the story. Like an insane interview. This was unique. It was frickin creepy and gave me actual nightmares. That's not normal."
"The writing was so detailed that the vivid imagery had me squirming in my seat and will stay with me for a quite some time."
"I loved the fact that even from the description of each story you don't know what is going to happen in each tale or what twists are going to unfold." -
"The first story was dark, dark, dark. And had a twisted ending. Finding I enjoyed Michael’s writing, I was anticipating more dark fun. And he delivered."
Kia ora koutou katoa, greetings traveller…
Reviews have just begun for Bloodalcohol - and the book is FINALLY available in paperback.

It’s that simple.
I’m serious when I say I’m trying to raise the standards here. I can name the ten most hardworking NZ horror writers - Denver, William, Tabatha, Steff, Lee, Kirsten and a few others. I want them all to join my mission: Raising the quality of our horror storytelling as high as possible, competing with literary fiction authors and showing readers that the genre of Kiwi Literary Horror can be powerful, profound, and beautifully crafted.
I’m also trying to set an example by which NZ horror book writers get their work off the page and into screenplays (‘Test of Death’ was a finalist in several screenwriting competitions this year; ‘The Day We Skipped School’ has been optioned for film production and we’re polishing the screenplay now.)

Again huge gratitude to the crowdfunding donors, all of whom are namechecked and thanked in the opening pages of the book. Your book is in the mail, I promise you.
I’ll send out an update soon and maybe a freebie story.
I would go and celebrate with alcohol and a single cigarette like Paul Sheldon, but Kathy Bates has me tied to a bed somewhere…
Thanks, hope you love the stories
Mike
